A little look by Melanos, an Italian restaurant in Harvey's Quay, Limerick City. If you ever come by this city sometimes, try Melanos! They serve good pizza! And umm, here's the cherry on top, the restaurant looks out to the beautiful Shannon river, which greatly adds to that perfect romantic ambiance. Love is in air :D 

MY 4TH OMBRE DIP DYE EXPERIENCE

Everyone, Ombre!

This is definitely one of the best hair products I've ever utilised. The only hair product that has got me feeling like the girl in the L'Oreal Paris shampoo ad. It completely transformed me. From the way I look to how I feel. It is a great way to express style, creativity and uniqueness. Be YOUnique, be ombre. 


Coming out of the drug store with the L'OREAL Paris Preference Wild Ombre in my purse, I hesitated between remaining brunette or becoming half blonde. Eventually, I opted for the current trend. The wild ombre ofcourse.

Furthermore, I have dipped my hair in the past. I failed miserably. Constantly. Thus, it is safe to say  that "the last outcome to be expected from this, is ruined hair" and will be a good while before I afford another expensive hair extension... I decided to do this again because last, I purchased the wrong shades meant for much darker hair. So I bought the shade number two, aiming for lighter results.

There's so much I wanted to do this summer and a little ombre wildness ain't never hurt nobody. The weather on the other hand is promising, summers will be great nonetheless. I really want to stand out. With a ton of doubts in my head regarding the dip dye, there's one good reason to proceed with the damn thing. The model on the front cover just wont quit!

The kit contains:

• Lightening powder
•  Developer cream
•  Lightening cream
•  Conditioning shampoo 
•  Black plastic gloves

Dipping the hair, I decided to hold the brush horizontally. This helped me achieve a much more dramatic, high colour intensity with a stark contrast between bottom and top layer of my hair as apposed to holding the brush vertically and getting a more subtle and natural colour. I'm not trying to achieve anything natural, after all I've been natural all of life. I'm aiming for something wild and I'm feeling myself! Moreover, I applied the from the eye level downwards as I wanted more of the hair to be highlighted. I waited for approximately forty five minutes before rinsing the die out.  Overall, I was thrilled with the result. Personally, I was happy with the ombre kit and I would recommend this to anybody who wants to achieve ombre at home!

MY CURRENT SKIN CARE

Whether or not we accept the solid truth, caring for our skin is the ultimate investment. We all desire beautiful, flawless, glowing and spotless skin. Just like anything else, this requires work, consistency and commitment. However, skin care regimens are rather time consuming and the products cost a lot of money. An effort. 

Moreover, beautiful skin is what we take for granted. There are people in this world that suffer from severe skin conditions. These cases range somewhere from genetic, perhaps suffered burns, permanent wounds, dark spots, or those diagnosed with cancer and having to undergo chemo or radio therapy resulting into serious side effects that might be threatening to skin. Our skin is everything. Not only does it act as a protective layer, but it makes us appear attractive. Yes! Picture yourself without it? You feel me?! :)

Furthermore, as you probably already know that you control everything within yourself. You control the most powerful tool, your brain. It does was you tell it. Okay here, I'll take it that you understand the biology behind this fact so I will not go into further detail about it. It's a bit irrelevant to this topic, nevertheless. In addition, our skin pretty much responds similarly. It absorbs what you apply on it, and quickly reacts if displeased with the product. It is always wise to consider this hint from the skin, it just might be another potential allergy. Moreover, it is vital that you take good care of your skin and use the best product or none. When using a good product, there's always a guarantee that a good result will be produced. Therefore, feed your skin with all the goodness.

First Product

You can't go wrong with dove. The brand has been around for decades and still sells pretty good. There are plenty of reviews done on this brand and I never came across someone who was unhappy with the product. That is a good start for new users.

Here's the interest bit about the logo of this brand. The dove (bird). Doves are ariginally white birds, however the lid is white, so it make clear sense why the bird is portrayed as gold. Now this is extraordinary because doves, from what I know, suggest love, and the white colour is a good symbol of purity and cleanness. They are also a sign of messengers, like the Jews' messiah. He is often depicted and a white dove (an angel). Okay enough of the scripture. My point is, for most of us, it is with this mindset that we buy this product. We convince ourselves that there's hope for a pure, perfect and clean facial skin that is free of contamination just like the dove infront of us. I just think their logo very clever and catchy . The best. 

Additionally, I have managed to squash this product into my night time skin-care routine. Or should I just be utterly honest with you, because of this product, I finally commenced a skin care routine. I have been using this at night before bed to keep my face moisturised and well nourished. It does the job I won't lie. It leaves my face soft and smooth at least. Like a baby's bum bum:)

Second Product

Beautifully Scrumptious. A luxurious scented body cream that softens and nourishes the skin. 

A quick review on this product guys:

Personally, I'm not fond of body buttters. I prefer oils and ointments. Vaseline and bio-oil for instance. I've used it since I was a kid (Johnsons baby vaseline). This very product was manufactured in South Africa, it was the best quality. I took advantage of it. However, they do not produce this product here in Ireland. I discovered that I was allergic to their similar version. So I went to the "afroshop" and purchased a commonly used brand. I have been using this since the age of 12 and it is smooth enough but very dense. I do not like the way it is so heavy and dense.

Butters on the other hand, like the cocoa butter here, seem to be buttery really. I mean duh. When I bought this product, I was expecting something a  little creamy, better yet, a cousin of a typical body lotion. But the texture is really almost like that of a butter. Moreover, in terms of stains, I have very little trust for this product. So I currently apply it on my hands and feet because the smell is absolutely gorgeous.

Garnier skin naturals. I swear, this is what I always needed. During my early teen years, like everyone approaching puberty, I got pimples. Now it was never a severe case. They'd usually target areas like my forehead, cheeks and weirdly, my nose. Over the years however, I got less pimples and eventually they stopped showing up. Yet, this puberty side effect left a few unpleasant dark spots on my face. I gotta tell you, I felt disgusted each time I payed attention. Dark spots can be very frustrating, especially if you have no means to treat them.

So I recently came across a Garnier Dark Spot Corrector. I'm literally like "where has it been all my life?" I have already started using this product. A daily unifying moisturiser. This product corrects different types of spots (sun spots, aging spots as well as imperfection marks). I also appreciate the fact it is made for all skin tones. This is a perfect anti-dark spot solution. Also, it contains vitamin C, a water soluble vitamin which is rich in growth, repair, development and wound-healing in this case.

Moreover, I apply this more often. At least three times a day since I bought it. I just apply it on the actual dark marks that I'm unhappy about. They, of course, will not disappear over night, but will over time. I would highly recommend this.

24/7 DermaV10 Dry Skin Cream. If you're Africana, this just might be your best friend. I don't know what it is with our skin and dryness. Well, it isn't like we're straight up dry from head toe. Myself for instance, I can't go a day without my applying some moisture on my skin. This is part of me. Vaseline and I go way back. I like to keep my skin shining and smelling fresh. But there's something about my hands. They are dry. At work I constantly have to wash my hands and this dries them even more. You'd swear they belong to someone else. Argh! Most of my black mates, family and just other africans in general, we suffer from dry hands. No matter how moisturised our skin may be. God why?

Futhermore, I think the DermaV10 dry skin cream works wonders for my dry areas like hands and elbows. I'm totally for this product but I feel that it's highly scented.

MY CATRICE COSMETICS EYESHADOW COLLECTION

Hello my lovelies :) You know something? I follow a lot of beauty channels on Youtube but I've barely came across any of you that utilise Catrice Cosmetics!

I personally, am guilty of abandoning Catrice's beauty products because after a little study, I have come into conclusion that, they are just as great as any popular brand, max factor for instance. The only outstanding difference is that ofcourse they are cheaper. As a student, my budget is always tight, I therefore believe that her products are great to fall back on.

 I own a few eyes shadow palletes that I purchased from primark and I never cared to use them :( But recently, I tried their metallic eye shadows and let me tell you that they booked me a pleasant surprise.!

•  CATRICE COSMETICS LIQUID METAL EYESHDOW

Furthermore, having done little research here on the net, I discovered that it is a good brand and offers a wide range  of texture and colour. I'M INLOVE :D Unfortunately there are still very reviews on these products.

I long to test other brand products ! I 'm happy to be curious , it allows me to make beautiful discoveries from time to time :)

• Pigmentation : The overall result is amazing for the price they offer! The bit on my fingers speaks for itself. I'm sure all you ladies would go for this classic and metallic look. I just LOVE the fact that it is not dusty. Phew! I swear some eyeshadows are too dusty, they got you looking like a ghost!
• Choice : Like I said, they offer a huge variety of colour, texture and finishing. A very good matt finish. I also love how their colours vary as seasons change. Excellent. It allows me to get more comfortable with my makeup in terms of change. I can simply adapt and refashion.   
• Better yet, a very good resistance I must say.
• Price : €1.99 for the two liquid metals, €2.99 for the colourful pallete and the smokey eye set.

I remember early last year, the silver palletes were all sold out and they could not sell me the tester. I convinced them that it was okay to sell it to me, I couldn't careless it was already used. I need this product it my life and so I was bound to get it! Fullstop. And Bingo!

MY MAX STUDIO EYESHADOW COLLECTION

 

 

HELLO! My lovelies! Oh God it has been a while since I last posted hasn't it? Latety, My life has been quite hectic, bombarded with work and what not! Summer is finally here alright! My boyfriend and I planned to hit Spain this month but I ended up cancelling the holiday because something else came up. So I was thinking perhaps, we could take a nice holiday this mid-August since it is out first year anniversary. It's been an amazing eight month journey with him and there's more to come!! I understand all this information is not related to this post but I just had to tell you guys what's up! 

Furthermore, I'm not the one for colourful, dramatic, and intense eyeshadows but lately however, I've been a huge fan. I have a real thing for dark and warm eyeshadows compared to vibrant ones. I've given bright colours a chance and I must say that they are pretty awesome. They bring out the brightness in me, I believe. On the other hand, dark colours are rather very warm and suitable for fall and I have always been in to them. I have below (imagery) a MAX FACTOR EYESHADOW PALET that I purchased last October and I'd been wearing it a lot since then. As you can clearly see it consists of 4 colours  (gold, honey gold, copper and dark brown). I love these colours I could wear them forever.    

 

 

This particular palette also consists of four colours (white, beige, bronzish gold and honey gold). I do not wear this one more often main because its quite brighter. However, when I do apply this eyeshadow, I tend to apply the white colour on the inner corner of my eye for that classic spark and appear more lively. Sometimes, because it is so bright, it always work as primer making the darker colours stand out more.
